The great scenic wealth of the Cordovan Sierra Morena finds one of its best examples in Villaharta. The “Villaharta Paths” Hiking Route is one of the most awaited active tourism events, attracting hikers from all over the province and even beyond its borders. An event designed to enjoy nature in its purest form.
Framed within the prestigious provincial hiking program NaturCor (sponsored by the Cordoba Provincial Council and the Andalusian Mountaineering Federation), this route stands out for its dynamism. Throughout its different editions, the route is reinvented, offering layouts that usually range between 12 and 14 kilometers, full of the continuous climbs and descents so characteristic of our mountains.
A walk through the heart of the Sierra
Each trail tells a story, connecting ancient landscapes, historical routes, and exceptional natural viewpoints.
Historical Trails
Participants traverse iconic sections such as the GR-48 trail, the Cañada Real Soriana (GR-40), the Cordel from Espiel to Obejo, or the historical Camino del Molinillo. Additionally, the old reservoirs that brought water from the Gargantilla spring are usually visited.
Unforgettable Views
The effort of reaching summits like the Cerro de la Solana, the Sierra del Ejambradero, or the Puerto de la Silleta is rewarded with spectacular panoramic views of the Puente Nuevo reservoir and the dense forests of the sierra.
