The Villaharta MTB Half Marathon has established itself as one of the most attractive and demanding mountain bike events on the Andalusian circuit. Usually framed within prestigious competitions such as the XCM Series of the Cordoba Provincial Council, this sporting event brings together hundreds of pedal enthusiasts every year, ready to challenge the topography of our mountains.
Under the impeccable organization of the P.C. Villaharta Ajierropartío Sports Club, the race usually attracts a peloton that nears the limit of 250 participants. It is an enormously inclusive event in terms of sports, welcoming both licensed and non-licensed riders in a wide range of categories, both male and female: from Cadets, Juniors, and Under-23s, through the Elite category, to the tireless Masters (30, 40, 50, and 60), not forgetting the cycle-tourists who seek to enjoy the course at their own pace.
A Demanding and Spectacular Course
The true protagonist of the day is the natural environment. The circuit offers a spectacular route of about 43 kilometers with approximately 1,150 meters of positive elevation gain. Bikers must face tough climbs, technical descents, and winding trails that test physical endurance and technical skill on the bike.
The section crossing the landscapes of Villaharta is especially valued for its scenic beauty and toughness, often becoming the decisive point where the race breaks open. The effort traditionally culminates at the acclaimed finish line on Virgen de la Piedad Street, where the warmth of the Villaharta public welcomes the runners.
