Every spring, coinciding with the commemoration of International Book Day around April 23rd, Villaharta dresses up in letters to celebrate its traditional Book Fair. It is an unmissable event where literature, outreach, and the promotion of reading become the main protagonists of the municipality.
The City Council organizes a full program of cultural days that take place mainly in two of the most important locations in the town: the Multi-purpose Building and the central Constitution Square, bringing together authors, residents, and visitors around a passion for books.
A weekend for the senses
The program is designed to cover all audiences, from the youngest to the most experienced readers.
Literary Encounters
The Multi-purpose Hall hosts various book presentations with the attendance of their invited authors. In addition, an important space is given to local outreach, with presentations of magazines and projects promoted by entities such as the Adult Center of Villaharta.
Children’s Workshops
To sow the seed of reading from an early age, the fair mornings usually start with fun children’s workshops and recreational activities designed especially to awaken the creativity of the youngest in the house.
Reading Promotion
The heart of the town, Constitution Square, is transformed into a large open-air bookstore. Attendees can enjoy book sales with significant discounts (usually around 30%), a perfect opportunity to expand the family library.
